Woodbury Road

Orange County’s Transportation Planning Division has initiated a transportation improvement study for the widening of Woodbury Road to a four-lane divided roadway from Lake Underhill Road to State Road (SR) 50. The study will also evaluate improvements to the intersection of Waterford Lakes Parkway and Woodbury Road.

This study area is a mixture of neighborhoods, businesses, and is adjacent to the Waterford Town Center. The roadway serves the East Orange County community and it is anticipated that the proposed improvements will improve traffic flow and safety in the area. By the end of the study, a final preferred alternative will be presented that incorporates public input with technical evaluation, assessing the net benefits of the improvements.

The study began in May 2019 and is expected to be finished late fall 2020.

Public Involvement

Two community meetings will be held during the study at locations in or near the Woodbury Road study area. The first meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 2020. The purpose of this meeting is to present the range of mobility options identified and improvement alternatives developed that could be applied to the corridor. The second meeting is tentatively scheduled for early fall 2020. The purpose of Meeting number 2 is to present the study recommendation of the preferred improvement alternative to the public for review and comment prior to the presentation to the local planning agency and Board of County Commissioners. Each community meeting will be publicly noticed at least two (2) weeks before the meeting date through the study newsletter (mailings and emails), newspaper advertisements (Orlando Sentinel and El Sentinel), study website and County press releases.

A Community Meeting has been scheduled to present the Woodbury Road RCA Study to the public:

Wednesday, December 16, 2020, beginning at 6:00 pm or shortly thereafter

In light of COVID-19, the meeting above is going to be held in an all-virtual environment. To register to attend the virtual community meeting, please visit the project website www.woodburyroadstudy.com and click on the virtual community meeting registration link provided on the homepage under "Upcoming Meetings".
