A Litter Free Orange County Campaign

A Litter Free Orange County is a campaign that aims to reduce litter to make the region cleaner and safer for residents and visitors.

The campaign includes different government departments including citizen groups and individual volunteers

• Make sure your trash is securely placed in the proper receptacle.
• Recycle materials to save landfill space, energy, and natural resources.
• When you see litter, pick it up and throw it away.
• Carry a litterbag in your vehicle or on your bicycle.
• Volunteer for community-wide cleanups in your district.

• Organize a cleanup and volunteers to help pick up litter. Neighborhood Preservation can help you with these programs and provide bags and gloves.
• Educate residents by placing anti-litter articles in your newsletters or websites. Encourage residents to take pride in their community by keeping it litter-free.

• Start a recycling/waste reduction program at your company.
• Adopt an area around your business and form a “Litter Lunch Crew” to police the area on a weekly basis.
• Educate your employees by placing anti-litter articles in your newsletters or other corporate communications.
• Make sure your dumpsters are closed and provide cigarette/litter receptacles at the entrance to your building.
• Adopt-A-Bus Stop and agree to collect the garbage so LYNX can place a trash receptacle at that stop.

• Promote a clean campus!
• As a student, always put trash & recyclables in the proper receptacle.
• When faculty & students see litter on campus, pick it up and throw it away.
• Sponsor a community clean up in the immediate area and neighborhood/s surrounding the school.
