Sustainable Actions for Orange County Neighborhoods
Our vision is for Orange County to be a leader on sustainability and community resilience. Innovative practices at the local level will not only strengthen our communities’ livability, economic development, and neighborhood relations, they will have real impact on the resilience of the region as a whole. In this session, neighborhood leaders will learn about how their communities can participate in sustainable practices using the wide variety of programs Orange County has to offer.
Strengthening Communities Through Public Art
Looking to engage neighbors, encourage vibrant change, build social connections, improve mental and physical health, and instill shared pride? Often given a low priority in the face of other neighborhood issues, studies have found that community art can lead to increased levels of community engagement and social cohesion. An Orange County Arts and Cultural Affairs Advisory Council member will describe how their work improves our neighborhoods, and present ideas on how community groups can use public art to engage diverse audiences, share neighborhood talents, and boost civic participation.
