Description:These committees operate in support of the Mayor's Youth Mental Health Commission. The Systems Design group works toward three objectives including: develop a comprehensive model to address youth mental health issues, identify the gap between the proposed model and the current service structure, recommend an implementation strategy for the proposed system. The Needs Assessment group works toward four objectives including: identify current and future needs for mental health services, identify differences between organic and behavioral mental health issues, identify incidence of mental health issues by demographics, and establish meaningful/measurable metrics to assess progress in treatment and prevention efforts. The two groups will be combining their efforts for this meeting to begin drafting recommendations for the Mayor’s Youth Mental Health Commission.
