With the exception of ADA service animals, no pets are permitted in Fort Christmas Historical Park. Alcohol is prohibited in the park.

Barnyard Banter: Hunting, Trapping, Fishing, June 20

  • Learn about how the pioneers put food on the table by hunting, trapping and fishing. Animal hides and bones will be used in the hands-on experience.
  • Fort Christmas Historical Park's FREE Barnyard Banter Historical and Educational Programs are suitable for all ages!
  • Any hands-on activities are limited to ages 6 years and older for the safety of participants. This is a FREE program, open to the public. Questions? Call our staff: 407-254-9310.
  • On the third Saturday of each month, a Barnyard Banter program is offered for free and is open to the public. Parents and children or grandparents and grandchildren will enjoy learning together about how things were done in the past. Schedule date or class subject matter may change without notice due to weather, speaker availability or other unforeseen circumstance.

New Youth Overnight Adventures!

  • Fort Christmas Historical Park's Frontier Experience is a new camping adventure for students who have completed 3rd grade to those going into 6th grade.
  • Campers will experience pioneer life, eat a meal cooked over a real campfire, explore the outdoors, play old fashioned games and create hands-on crafts. As night falls, participants will enjoy a rare opportunity to sleep inside the historic fort walls, just like Florida pioneers once did. Frontier activities vary by experience.
  • Registration is open until full. Cost is $50 per child for each overnight experience. Register and pay online at tinyurl.com/FCP-Frontier.

Tours and Special Events

  • The historic homes, school and fort are open daily, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., including holidays.
  • The park includes a replica of a fort built in 1837 during the Second Seminole Indian War; a traditional Florida "Cracker" house and eight pioneer homes; a schoolhouse and lunchroom; a sugar cane mill and other historical farming equipment.
