Recent Code Amendments

Amendments to Orange County Code Chapter 15, Article VIII, Tree Protection and Removal and Chapter 24, Landscaping, Buffering and Open Space were adopted by the Board of County Commissioners on September 12, 2023 by Ordinance 2023-35. These changes will become effective on March 15, 2024.

Process

  1. Complete and submit an application for a Timber Harvesting Permit (Exempt Agricultural Property).
  2. Attach a tree survey in accordance with Section 15-301(e) if the Comprehensive Plan (CP) designates the parcel(s) as Urban Service Area, Growth Center, or Village Land Use, per Section 15-279
  3. You may submit In-Person or online to Arborist@ocfl.net.
  4. Application is reviewed by the Zoning Division Arborists for compliance with the County regulations including applicable board actions. Other affected divisions may review such as Development Engineering and Environmental Protection Division.
  5. For approved applications, conditions of approval may be imposed.
  6. The permit is issued to the contractor or property owner.
  7. The permit expires after 60 days of Permit issuance.

Review Fees

  • Zoning Arborist $153 (fee schedule)
  • Business Tax Receipt Fee Determined by the Business Tax Receipt Office.
  • EPD $3 (if applicable)
  • Development Engineering $38 (if applicable)
