"Welcome to Orange County, Florida. I am proud to be serving my second term as your Mayor and look forward to our work together as we continue to build a strong and prosperous community for our guests and citizens to enjoy. As home to more than 1.2 million residents and as the top travel and leisure destination with more than 62 million visitors, our region is truly the best place in the world to live, work and raise a family.
In addition to our world class international airport, second largest convention center in the U.S., and blockbuster theme parks and entertainment options, Orange County is home to some of the finest public venues in America, including the spectacular new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, our newly-rebuilt Citrus Bowl, SunRail – the newest commuter rail in the nation – and a soon-to-be-completed Major League Soccer Stadium for our new MLS franchise. Additionally, we’re home to the NBA’s Orlando Magic and we host the Atlanta Braves for their annual spring training at the region’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Our talented workforce and multi-modal access to destinations around the globe has landed the City of Orlando as Forbes’ No. 1 region for job growth with its ranking as one of the fastest growing cities in the nation. The New York Times named Orlando No. 13 of 52 Places to go in 2015 and Travel and Leisure also recognized the region as one of the Best Places to Travel in 2015. Our Regional Branding Campaign, “Orlando. You don’t know the half of it.” can tell you more about our community and how we stay on the cutting edge." – Mayor Teresa Jacobs
