Learn about the Safe Neighborhood Program

Overview

The Safe Neighborhood Program helps residents fight crime in nine targeted communities including:

  1. Azalea Park Safe Neighborhood - August 2009, District 3
  2. Lee Road Safe Neighborhood - April 2001, Districts 2 & 5
  3. Pine Castle Safe Community Preservation Association, District 4
  4. Pine Hills Safe Neighborhood Partnership - August 2009, Districts 2 & 6
  5. Orlo Vista Safe Neighborhood, District 6
  6. South Apopka Safe Neighborhood - October 2013, District 2
  7. Tildenville Safe Neighborhood - January 2003, District 1
  8. South Goldenrod Safe Neighborhood Action Plan, District 3
  9. South Orange Blossom Trail Safe Neighborhood (Directed by Orange Blossom Trail Development Board), District 6

Orange County staff administers the plan along with members of the community. Safe Neighborhood residents must participate and help determine projects that will be most effective at addressing crime and other issues that are adversely affecting the community.

Crime Prevention & Safety Grants and Non-Profit Safety Grants provide money to fight crime in areas outside Safe Neighborhood designations.
