Orange County was recently allocated $5.7 million in CARES Act funding known as Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) by the State of Florida. These funds are being distributed to counties by the Florida Housing Finance Corporation through the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) infrastructure. Orange County is developing plans to quickly use this money to assist households in danger of being evicted. We are anticipating a large demand for this assistance and as such, our team will be assisting the County in processing these applications. During this timeframe, we will be pausing the acceptance of applications to Orange County’s Down Payment Assistance Program until further notice.
The deadline to submit applications for Orange County Down Payment Assistance program is August 14, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. We will continue to accept applications for very low and low income buyers through courier or express delivery services, such as Fed Ex, UPS and USPS up to the deadline. Applications submitted electronically must be sent via a secured system, in order to protect sensitive personal data. Substantially incomplete applications will not be processed.
We ask for your patience as we continue to adapt and respond to community needs.
