Domestic Violence Awareness Walk/Run/Bike by Harbor House of Central Florida

Harbor House and Help Now are partnering to bring you the Domestic Violence Awareness Walk/Run/Bike. You can participate from wherever you are on Sunday, October 25. Registration is free. When you sign up, you can download a bib and tell us why you are walking, running, or biking.

Clerks Against Domestic Violence Workshop

In recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Orange County Clerk of Courts reminds the community our office is a local resource for those affected directly and indirectly by domestic violence. As part of this, we will be hosting a special virtual "Clerks Against Domestic Violence Workshop" on Thursday, October 29th from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. live on Zoom. We have partnered with the Orlando Police Department, Harbor House of Central Florida, and Victim Service Center to bring awareness and valuable information to Orange County residents.

Keys of Freedom Conference by Nuevo Sendero

Nuevo Sendero is hosting a virtual conference “Keys of Freedom, Llaves de la Libertad”, with keynote speakers Rev. and author Omayra Font, and author Karim MacKey.

Public Comment

  • Residents can submit their comment to before 5 PM the day before the Domestic Violence Commission meeting. The resident’s name, address, phone number, and the topic of public comment are required components of the email. The resident will need to indicate the specific Working Group they are addressing in public comment.
  • At the beginning of public comment period, Orange County staff will read your submission and add it to the public record. Please note emails that extend beyond the set time limit will not be read in their entirety. The citizen’s entire email however will be entered into the public record.
  • Please note that the time allocated to each individual for public comment (via email or in person) shall be at the sole discretion of the Mayor and may be reduced from the normal 3 minutes based on the number of speakers.
  • Orange County Government reserves the right to modify, amend, or discontinue these temporary procedures for public comment, with or without notice, in order to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations; to rectify technological or logistical difficulties; or to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the public.
  • Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. We will get through this together.
