Description:To change the Future Land Use Map designation of the subject property (18.36 acres) located in the Lake Avalon Rural Settlement from Rural Settlement (1/5) to Institutional (INST) to allow a non-profit educational and residential care facility for persons with disabilities to provide life skills in agriculture and agribusiness at the farm. The study examined various methods to improve safety and operations at intersections along the project limits from north of Colonial Drive (State Road (SR) 50) to Lake Pickett Road. The corridor is home to various businesses, residences, and institutions. The study objective is to evaluate potential intersection configurations within the roadway alignment corridor and propose improvements to provide both project-wide and location-specific safety, accessibility, comfort, and convenient accommodations for pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and freight handlers of all ages and abilities.
Study information, including presentations and maps, are posted on the project website at www.chuluotarca.com or on the Orange County website at www.ocfl.net. A public hearing before the Orange County Board of County Commissioners will be scheduled later to present the preferred study recommendations.
