Privately operated rechargeable battery collection centers can be located at the Rechargeable Battery Corporation (External Site) web site. Compact Fluorescents Lamps (CFL): Swapping out traditional, incandescent bulbs with CFL bulbs will help reduce global warming as well energy bills. Please dispose of used CFL (PDF - 113KB) properly.
A surprising number of everyday household items contain mercury (PDF - 423KB). When their usefulness has expired, please take these items along with other household hazardous waste, such as paints, pesticides, and cleaners to one of the Orange County Landfill transfer stations. |
