Lorenzo “Lo” Phillips was appointed principal of Jones High School in 2003. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University and a master’s degree and an Educational Specialist degree from Rollins College. He previously was principal at Westridge Middle, where he was responsible for curriculum improvement that led to improved student performance on the FCAT for three consecutive years.
Prior to becoming principal at Westridge, Lo worked as assistant principal at Winter Park High for nine years. He began his career with OCPS as a teacher at Liberty Junior High in 1977.
Before entering education, Phillips served in the U.S. Army for 11 years.
