Blue Ribbon Panel Member
PERCY R. LUNEY, JR.

Percy R. Luney, Jr is dean and professor of law at Florida A&M University College of Law in Orlando. He is a past president of the National Judicial College (Reno, Nevada), the oldest judicial education and training institution in the United States, and has taught at Duke University School of Law and North Carolina Central University School of Law where he also served as dean. Prior to entering legal education, he practiced law in Washington, DC and Nashville, Tennessee.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, and his law degree from Harvard Law School. He is a former Fulbright Research Scholar, Lecturer and Specialist, which has provided him with opportunities to teach in Cambodia and Japan. As a Thomas J. Watson Fellow, he traveled extensively and conducted research throughout Africa and Europe. He has authored many articles and books dealing with legal issues.

He serves on several boards, including those for the Citrus Club and Orlando Chamber of Commerce. Percy is a product of public school education and has two daughters who attended public schools.
