Alafaya Trail RCA

Mark Twain to Avalon Park Boulevard

Avalon Rush Hour Relief

Work is now underway to widen a busy stretch of Alafaya Trail.

The four mile approach to Avalon adds two lanes along with a new sidewalk and multi-purpose path.

The joint public/private project uses impact fees to speed up development.

Planning started in 2011 with traffic and stormwater runoff studies.

Numerous meetings were held with homeowners and businesses to complete the design.

Project Update

Scheduled to open September 2013.

What Is An RCA?

“RCA” stands for Roadway Conceptual Analysis. It’s the process through which Orange County confirms the need to improve a road. At the heart of all Orange County RCAs you’ll find a fascinating mixture of scientific data and feedback from residents. With the approval of the Board of County Commissioners, an RCA project moves forward with final design, right-of-way acquisition and construction.
