Trails

Embark on an exciting exploration of one of Orange County Parks and Recreation's three magnificent trails. The Cady Way Trail, Econ Trail and the West Orange Trail provide the perfect getaway. Surround yourself in Central Florida's natural grandeur while hiking, bicycling or rollerblading one of our popular trails.

We would love for you to bring your pet with you to all the trails as long as you keep them leashed and clean up after them. And we ask that you please be responsible, alert and courteous while using Orange County Parks and Recreation's trails.

Are you interested in having a special event or fund raiser on one of our trails? Please read our Facility Use Policy (45 KB) first; to apply for use of a trail, complete the Facility Use Application form (325 KB).

Cady Way Trail

Trail users can travel between the City of Winter Park to the Fashion Square Mall to the City of Oviedo. The Cady Way Trail now stretches 6.5-miles with the completion of the new Cady Way Trail Bridge that spans across Semoran Boulevard just south of Aloma. The path of the 685 foot bridge begins at Ranger Boulevard, connects the trail to Forsyth Road and ends at Hall Road and Aloma connecting it to the Cross Seminole Trail.

The trail, which follows a former railway corridor connecting the cities of Winter Park and Orlando, alternates between single-width and two paths separated by a median.

Shelters and rest stops with benches and water fountains are located along the path. Picnic tables and a playground are also available for your enjoyment at the Cady Way trailhead located ¼ mile north of State Road 50 on Herndon Avenue, adjacent to the post office.

Econ Trail

The Econ Trail is located one mile north of State Road 50 on Dean Road and runs along the Little Econlockhatchee River. Nearly 5 miles long, the trail begins at Jay Blanchard Park and extends to Goldenrod Road. This unique trail offers riverside recreation such as fishing, canoeing and picnicking.

The Little Econ River and its freshwater swamps provide an ideal habitat for a wide array of reptiles, amphibians and birds. Catch sight of some amazing wildlife while hiking the trail or paddling the river in a canoe. Birds, like Osprey and Red-Shouldered Hawks, as well as turtles and alligators may be seen while using this trail. And smaller, 4-winged friends can be found in our butterfly garden, which is also located along the trail.

Future Plans
Orange County Parks and Recreation has future plans to expand this trail both east and west, eventually linking it to Alafaya Trail and Forsyth Road.
