Mission

Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs has convened a nine-member feasibility task force comprised of an appointee from each commission district and three Mayoral appointees to study the delivery model of countywide Tax Collector services. The task force will determine whether changes to the current elected Constitutional Officer structure of Orange County’s Tax Collector office should be examined by the Board of County Commissioners for consideration as a future ballot measure put before voters.

Process

The initial task force meeting occurred on August 30, 2012. Monthly task force meetings are scheduled every second Thursday of the month until August 2013. During meetings, task force members will consider information on the agendas. Meetings will be announced through public notices and Orange County’s website.

Results

The Tax Collector’s Office Feasibility Task Force acts in an advisory capacity. Any recommendations will be presented to the Orange County Board of County Commissioners for final consideration.
