Orange County Government Hosts 5K Run/Walk Event to Benefit Heart of Florida United Way

Orange County, FL – Orange County Government invites residents to its Live United! 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 28, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the West Orange Trail – Chapin Station Park located at 501 Crown Point Cross Road, Winter Garden, FL 34787. All proceeds will benefit Heart of Florida United Way, Central Florida’s most comprehensive health and human services charity and the largest regional provider of funds to critical health and human service programs.

Registration is now open. To register online, visit www.ocu5k4unitedway.eventbrite.com. The entry fee is $25 from now to September 20, $30 from September 21 – 26, and $35 on the day of the race.

“Orange County Government employees have supported Heart of Florida United Way fundraising initiatives and goals for many years,” said Tim Armstrong, Orange County Utilities Customer Service Manager and 5K Co-Coordinator. “The 5K fundraiser is a way to include the community in our efforts.”

The event will be timed with RFID chips placed in participants’ bibs. Awards will be given to the top male and female overall and top finisher in each of the specified age groups beginning at age 8. Participants will receive an event t-shirt while supplies last.
