Orange County, FL – The Orange County Procurement Division has been selected by the National Procurement Institute (NPI) to receive the 2014 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award. The award recognizes excellence in procurement by organizations that obtain high scores on standardized criteria which measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership attributes in the procurement profession.

The Orange County Board of County Commissioners is one of only 27 government agencies in Florida and one of only 44 counties in the United States to receive this prestigious award. They are also one of only six agencies that have received this award each year since its inception in 1996.

“Orange County’s public procurement staff works quietly behind the scenes to safeguard tax payer dollars,” said Johnny Richardson, manager, procurement division. “The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award is a testament to their dedication and commitment.”
