03/13/2017 Four Organizations – Including Orange County Government – Come Together To Bring 58 Affordable Homes To South Apopka
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando will break ground on the organization’s third planned community, Arbor Bend, which will feature 34 homes upon completion in 2019. In addition, Habitat for Humanity of Seminole County and Greater Apopka will break ground on Juniper Bend, a 24-home community. Together, both organizations will bring 58 single-family homes to the South Apopka.

The F.U.N. program is designed to give a fresh facelift to the neighborhood, while promoting a sense of pride and unity among the residents. This year, the Normandy Shores community has been selected to receive assistance. F.U.N. provides a way for homeowners to receive this assistance for their homes absolutely free of charge.
02/14/2017 Orange County Fire Rescue Launches Lifesaving Apps With Technology To Help Keep Hearts Healthy
This Valentine’s Day, during National Heart Month, Orange County Fire Rescue partnered with the University of Central Florida (UCF) to launch two lifesaving apps - PulsePoint Respond and PulsePoint AED. The apps support first-responding agencies like Orange County Fire Rescue by encouraging CPR-trained citizens to respond to sudden cardiac arrest incidents as emergency crews are en route. The partnership to launch the technology at the University was a natural selection.
02/07/2017 Call To Artists Sculpture On The Lawn 2017
Artists are invited to submit work for the third annual Sculpture on the Lawn exhibition, an outdoor display featured at the entrance to the Orange County Administration Center (201 S. Rosalind Ave.) in the heart of downtown Orlando, Florida, where the works are visible to approximately 10,000 people daily.
