You Are Invited! Art Meets Agriculture – Reception and Art Exhibit

Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and Orange County Commissioners invite the public to experience art inspired by small farms, urban and community gardens and backyard growers at the Art Meets Agriculture reception and art exhibit.

Orange County, FL – The free event is hosted by the Orlando Public Library located at 101 East Central Boulevard, downtown Orlando, on Thursday, November 20, 4 – 7 p.m. The exhibit features the entries and winners of this year’s Orange County Pollution Prevention Awareness Calendar Art Contest.

Art Exhibit: Orange County high school students created artwork that communicates practices that help prevent pollution, conserve natural resources and promote the health of our community. The artwork reflects sustainable farm to table practices, community and backyard gardens, organic farming, beekeeping and pasture raised farm animals.

Exhibit Theme: Winning entries will be featured in a 16- month, 2016 Pollution Prevention Awareness Calendar to be distributed during Pollution Prevention Week 2015 (third full week in September). Thank you to the following partners and prize sponsors: Orange County Environmental Protection Division, Orange County Public Schools, Orange County Public Library System, Crealdé School of Art, Art Systems of Florida, Wella Verde, Wekiva Island, and Central Florida Sierra Club.

Winners: Art is judged on effectiveness and relevance to theme, originality, creativity, and quality of art.
