Mayor Teresa Jacobs Joins Prince Harry of Wales and First Lady Michelle Obama for Invictus Games Opening Ceremony

Orange County, FL – Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs will show her support for Wounded Warriors from all over the world as a guest participating in the Opening Ceremony for the Invictus Games Orlando 2016 on May 8 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The ceremony will feature His Royal Highness, Prince Harry of Wales, First Lady Michelle Obama, Morgan Freeman and musical guests including James Blunt, Laura Wright and several military performances.

The Invictus Games Orlando 2016 will take place May 8 through 12 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. Two Central Florida Wounded Warriors will be competing in the games; Javier Rodriguez, retired Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy, of St. Cloud, and Mike Roggio, retired Petty Officer 3rd Class from the U.S. Navy, of Oviedo.

The Invictus Games is the only international adaptive sporting event for injured active duty and veteran service members. The Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect of all those who serve their country, as well as their families and caregivers. More than 500 competitors from 14 countries will compete in 10 adaptive sports. Tickets may be purchased at invictusgames2016.org/tickets/.
