Orange County, FL: Mayor Teresa Jacobs will distribute hundreds of toys collected during her Holiday Heroes Toy Drive at the Community Food and Outreach Center this weekend. Mayor Jacobs will then help parents “shop” for the items they would like to take home to their children.

The Community Food and Outreach Center helps out-of-work and homeless families by providing food and other crisis services. It is one of six agencies that will receive toys collected during the Holiday Heroes Toy Drive. Mayor Jacobs encouraged citizens and employees to give new, unwrapped toys for children up to 18-years-old.
“It’s heartwarming to see so many people give of themselves by digging into their own pockets and taking the time to ensure that children in our community, who otherwise may not have received a single gift, get to experience the joy of the holidays,” said Jacobs.
The Community Food and Outreach Center, which serves almost 300 families a day, will host the “shopping” day for registered parents who receive assistance from the non-profit group.
Holiday Heroes toys were collected at all Orlando Federal Credit Union branches along with Orange County recreation centers and office buildings.
