Mayor Teresa Jacobs Hosts Second Seminar on Global Trade Session Focuses on Opportunities with Brazil

Orange County, FL: Mayor Teresa Jacobs will host the second of a series of seminars focusing on economic development and global trade in Central Florida next week.  The session entitled Brazil: A World of Opportunities will be held at the National Entrepreneur Center (3201 E. Colonial Drive, Suite A20, Orlando) on Friday, March 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The event is being presented by the Central Florida Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

The seminar focuses on lessons learned during last year’s Team Florida trade mission to São Paulo with Governor Rick Scott and will feature a speaker on Brazil’s economy and business opportunities followed by an expert panel discussion on how to do business with Brazil and ideas on how to market to the large number of Brazilians who visit Central Florida every day. Local businesses Fogo De Chão, which will open its high-end Brazilian steakhouse on International Drive this month, and Apas Corp will sponsor the event.

“Brazil is the seventh largest economy in the world,” said Mayor Teresa Jacobs. “Its prosperity and ingenuity were evident during the trade mission and I am eager to share the perspective I gained with our business owners here in Orange County.”

The first session, Doing Business with Colombia, highlighted the advantages of investing in and trading with Colombia. The seminar, which was hosted in conjunction with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando last month, also promoted commerce and economic growth between the two countries.

The Orange County Global Trade Series are free to the public. Those wishing to attend must RSVP to JaeNale@ocfl.net.  Space is limited. Questions for the speakers can be submitted in advance to info@cfbacc.com.

The remaining sessions will focus on doing business with Puerto Rico and Europe. Dates and locations will be announced soon.
