Prepare your pet to be spayed or neutered

Steps To Take

Ready to take the plunge? Be sure to prepare your pet for a safe surgery experience with these tips:

  • Bathe your pet the day before surgery, as bathing is not recommended for seven days post-surgery.
  • Do not allow your pet food or water after 11 p.m. the night before surgery.
  • Bring your pet to clinic confined. (dogs on a leash and cats in a box or carrier)
  • And remember, female dogs in heat cannot be spayed.
