By completing these tasks beforehand, you can spend a little more time learning about our organization and meeting new people on your first day at Orange County. Before arriving at your first day of orientation, be sure you have:
Federal regulations require that you show specific documents to demonstrate your identity and authorization to work in the United States. Documents must be originals; copies or laminated documents cannot be accepted. Speak with your HR representative and confirm:
Your first day of employment starts on Orientation Day. You will complete several required forms, participate in a series of interactive sessions to better understand our values and culture, and enroll in benefits. Additionally, you can review the New Employee Orientation Handbook for further employment information and benefits. On the second day, you will work in your department learning more specifically about its operations and your new job. Tasks that should be a priority in your first week at Orange County include:

On Orientation day, a benefits representative will be on hand to answer your questions and complete your sign-up process. For details, consult your benefits handbook.
Basic Life Insurance and Long Term Disability begins on your first day. Optional benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, Supplemental Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, and Flexible Spending Accounts start the first pay period following 60 days of employment.
You have 30 days from the date of orientation to elect benefits.
